Complete GNSS Data Collection with a Trimble R750 Modular GNSS Receiver

Trimble-R750-GNSS

Consider These Top Five Features for Surveyors

Trimble this week introduced the Trimble® R750 Modular GNSS Receiver, a connected base station that gives users improved satellite tracking and remote operation for geospatial, civil construction and agriculture applications.

The Trimble R750 provides improved base station performance for more reliable and precise positioning in the field. It can be used as a modular, connected base station to broadcast Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) corrections for a wide range of applications, including seismic surveying and monitoring. Access to all available satellite signals provides improved performance and reliability when used with a Trimble ProPoint Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) rover. ProPoint gives users improved performance in challenging GNSS conditions, with ground-breaking signal management.

"The Trimble R750, with its modern GNSS positioning and communications capabilities, provides users with the flexibility to deploy their system as a base or a rover, anywhere, at any time, in any number of applications requiring precise, real time positioning," said Andrew Salmon, product manager, Trimble.

Key users in geospatial will include:

  • Land surveyors in the areas of cadastral, topographic, construction, pipeline and mine, typically using the Trimble R750 as a base station.
  • Geodetic surveyors, including national and state mapping agencies working on static observation campaigns for projects like geoid slope validation surveys and crustal movement monitoring, and Departments of Transportation (DOTs) doing control network surveys for road and rail.
  • Seismic surveyors doing natural resource exploration via a vehicle-mounted rover system and often operating in remote and wooded locations.

Check out these five features of the Trimble R750 of highest interest to surveyors:

  1. Maxwell 7 GNSS - The Trimble R750 utilizes a single Maxwell™ 7 ASIC with 336 GNSS tracking channels and offers all GNSS constellations plus the latest signals (such as GPS L1C and BeiDou-III). It makes an ideal base station for Trimble GNSS rovers with ProPoint GNSS technology (Trimble R12, Trimble R12i).
  1. “Connected,” modern system - Featuring a built-in 4G LTE modem, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Ethernet, the Trimble R750 can broadcast RTK corrections to rovers via the internet, such as receiving corrections from an NTRIP base station or VRS network. It also easily connects to the receiver Web User Interface to configure settings and functions, like GNSS data logging.
  1. ProPoint GNSS technology - When used as a rover, the Trimble R750’s industry-leading ProPoint GNSS positioning engine enables greater accuracy, reliability, and productivity, especially in challenging GNSS environments. Users can take advantage of ProPoint technology when using terrestrial RTK corrections, regardless of base station type or correction message, or with Trimble CenterPoint® RTX satellite or IP-delivered corrections. In addition, Trimble xFill® technology allows continued use of a rover with survey precisions for up to five minutes if the connection to a primary terrestrial correction source is lost.
  1. Front panel - The Trimble R750’s USB-C connector means users can easily connect to their PC to install firmware and options via Trimble Installation Manager. The USB-C PD (Power Delivery) charging is capable of using a USB-C PD power bank in the field to extend operating time or charge the receiver internal battery while driving to a site using a 12V USB-C charger. The Four Line User Interface (FLUI) display enables convenient viewing of receiver information and configuring of settings. Also, a QR code provides convenient Wi-Fi access point connection via a smartphone.
  1. Scalable - Users can buy only the features they need and easily upgrade capabilities over time as their needs evolve.
