"They can print the digitized data and then make a model of the same size with the same material," Nguyen said. Nguyen was pleased with the results he achieved with the Trimble X7. The onsite scanning took only four hours. "Previously we needed to combine the data of the terrestrial laser scanning and then take photos by hand or by drone," he said. "We chose the Trimble X7 because we can see the results of the field work immediately." VMT will use the Trimble X7 on many other projects, Nguyen said. The ornate entry to the building required multiple scans to ensure complete data capture. The Trimble X7 captured 3D data on the detailed carvings on the building façade.
